Weight of silver versus aluminum per1 1/2 lbs.

I have a bag of silver scrap that I can hold in both hands. My hands are small compared to a lot of men today. I estimate 6 inches diameter. Is this silver or aluminum? Thanks for your help.

If you had a 6" ball of solid aluminum, it would weigh about 10.5 lbs. If the ball was solid silver, it would weigh about 43 lbs.
