Weeknd find's and a 1st. for me

Finally got out after about2-3wks. of freezing temps.High's today were in the high 60's.Got out to one of my favorite haunts.Found a little clad,somekind of doohickey looks to be brass,1920 wheatie,and 1898 IH,and a 1868 Shield nickel.Been looking for one of these for quite awhile.Pretty much took my breath away. Thank's for looking and keep on diggin.......hh rh

Chances are that little brass doohickie is a "final" off the top of an old lamp?!

Nice finds. Glad you were able to get out. It warmed up a little up here today, but we still have quite a bit of snow cover, so will have to wait a little longer. Damn, I'm tired of winter.

Yeah ed it was the cortes.It was about 8"down underneath about a 2"round tree root.Dug it up and saw the 5w/ the stars and thought it was a token,then turned it over and got the shock of my life........rh

I'm jealous RH......This coin is still on my list. Glad it was you that found it though. Wish I had been there to see it come out of the ground. I suppose that cleaning method really worked huh Maybe I'll try it myself when I pull a shield out of the ground. Ha! That won't be soon I'm sure.
