Weekends CW relic finds & first silver of year

With snow on the ground and temps only in the 30's in Cincinnati, I checked the forecast for my parents house down in east Tenn area and saw sunny with highs near 50. I called my dad up and he was fired up to get out and pull some more history out of the ground. What a beautiful weekend!!!!!!! Saturdays high was low 50's and Sunday 66 with a ton of sunshine...heck, I was hunting in my t-shirt Sunday. Well. here are the results from the picket post I found last Nov. A handful of 58 cal minies and a nice Smith carbine, but dad got the find of the weekend in a Enfield hammer. Also a hunters pocket spill of a merc, 2 wheaties and a nickel. HH'ing everybody!

Nice Recoveries SP!! I love to dig those .50 cal. Smith Carbine bullets. Great Enfield hammer and dropped 3 ringers. I bet your Dad was excited with the luck you guys had. HH, Quindy.

Dad and I had hunted about 6 hours before he found the hammer and he was starting to say he was tired and ready to go...once he found that hammer he was off and running again for another 1 & 1/2 hours!!

Bill, I log everything I find. I have a relic log page on which I record:
date
weather conditions
property and owners name
detector(s)used
people hunting with me
I draw a topo map of the site and on it list all finds and locations
I also make note of anyhting special or unusual

That is the only way to do it. I keep record of all of my collection. Thanks for the show Bill. Sounds like pops had cabin fever too. Bill
