Here is the weekend haul.

I went out early on Saturday morning, to the bad side of town, it is best to go early... if you know what I mean. I hunted a couple of lots where the houses had been removed. I found the usual bottlecaps, clad, house keys etc... then the Deus hit a nice high tone, and out popped a sterling silver band. I worked around a little more and another nice high tone, and out comes a dinner ring. It has 925 on the inside. The stones are just paste... but still, I got two silver rings... that's good for me.

I went back on Sunday morning. I worked the area where the front porch and front yard would have been on the demolished houses. I hunted for almost three hours. I got about 50 coins total, from the '40s until present. There were (12) Wheaties, and one lone silver... my first quarter! I am into coins, so I was really excited about seeing George. That is silver coin #11YTD.

I found this Hotpoint "spinner token" which celebrates their 50th anniversary in 1955. I also found what I think is a part of a Masonic keychain.

Thanks for looking!

Awesome job Tom! A big CONGRATS on all the silver. I love that Hotpoint token.
My best spot so far since we moved to the Asheville area has been in the less desirable part of town.
Well done,
-Doug-

Congratulations on your first silvers with your new Deus! The Washington quarter is a beauty.

Thanks Jay!

You know that I have been searching everywhere for that first silver quarter. The Deus did good this weekend. I just need to keep practicing with it... I am finding coins with it, I just want to find more and better coins... greed is a terrible thing. GL&HH.

Wow..Sweet finds!! Love the varied assortment of goodies...silver, wheat, tokens..etc...MAN you just gotta LOVE that stuff !! I have just got LIMITED permission to hunt a very early 1800's site, JUST down the road from me! Turns out, thorough research, talking to neighbors, etc..that the county road we live on used to be a horse and buggy thoroughfare. A half-mile down the road, there is a gravel road that goes back to an early 1800's farmhouse (still standing)..and found out that that the gravel drive was the old road, and was changed due to the fact that these "newfangled" horseless carriages couldn't negotiate a steep hill around the bend. And there is A LOT of ground to cover, so I have fresh batteries in the ATP and hope to be posting some great finds soon. Tom-thanks for posting these great finds..certainly motivated me !! ddf

Good job on the silvers!!

Congrats on your first silver quarter. They are not easy to find around here. Your rings are great finds also.

Nice digs Tom!!!! How ya liking the Deus?

Hello Coop.... hope all is well.

I have had the Deus less than two weeks, so it is still really new to me. The first couple of times out were not so good, lots of trash and just a couple of coins. As I get more familiar with the tones and numbers, it is getting better. I just need to spend more time using it. On Sunday, I had 50 coins by lunch time, including that quarter and a dozen wheaties (granted, I was hunting a really good spot).... but for me, regardless of the machine, that is an awesome haul. In the long run I think that Deus will work out well for me.

I really appreciate you helping me out.
