It has been tough trying to "normalize" myself after hunting in the North. It's not easy to go back to Rosies after you have dug a capped bust coin. I guess I could have worse problems though.
I headed out Saturday morning towards the usual suspects, torn down houses and assorted vacant lots. My second spot looked good, but almost all of them look good to me, as I am a bit of a sucker. I got a few modern coins, then a sharp high tone appeared. I dug this nugget and immediately knew what it was.
I quick wipe with my finger revealed a silver ring! A bit squished, but silver none the less.
Less than a half hour later, this chunk popped out one of my holes.
Once again, a quick wipe revealed a silver ring... with a gold edge!
However this one has a gold plated base with sterling inset... per the verbiage on the inside. People who buy cheap jewelry are going to be the death of me!
I'm still counting it as a silver ring.
As is the usual case, I dig an assortment of "relics". Just modern junk that sounds good, but aint!
Smittyman lined us up a permission on Sunday. I will go ahead and say it, he got the better of me at this spot. However, one of my holes had a shiny '53 Washington in it!
It was a nice weekend, with a couple of silver coins and a couple of silver rings... I got two junk rings too, and a Sacagawea dollar.
Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!
