Went to a private lake on Labor day weekend with some friends/family for a BBQ, beer drinkin, and detectin fest ;D

Pics of my good finds shown here.

Seems that the lake has never been detected (hard to find these days).

All finds were found IN the lake - not ON the beach.

Sweet!

Re: LABOR DAY WEEKEND LAKE FINDS

Very nice finds. I love to look around the lakes too. You have to weed through a lot of pulltabs and cans but it sure is fun. It's well worth the trouble to wade through the mud. I do much better finding rings in the water but it's a lot of work. Keep up the good work.

Private lake with a public swimming area for the "members" of the lake association (not open to gen public).

There are actually 2 beach areas - I focused only on one in water up to chest deep.
(all of these items were found in 1' to 4' of water - not ON the beach).

I'll be going back to do the other area at a later date ;D

Thanks all!

Nice going. Yep, I need to get in the water with my CZ-20 at least a couple more times before fall. Were the old coins deep? Was it sandy or marly? Good luck finding more.

 Super finds!

The deepest coin was approx. 10in (the buffalo .05) and the deepest ring was approx. 12in (the gold band).

The lake bottom is sandy at shore and turns to MUK with weeds at around 30 yrds out (4ft of water and beyond)

It's not an easy lake to detect due to the amount of weeds/muk
