I hooked up with Todd Lipe (of TNet fame) over the weekend for a couple of hunts. He spanked me, as his thread shows, but I aint complaining because I was able to pick up a couple of scraps that he was not interested in finding.
Saturday
We hit a couple of different places. I struggled along for most of the day with meager finds in the pouch. I did stumble across a 1928 Ecuadorian silver coin, 5 grams of .720 silver. It was badly tarnished when recovered, but had a bit of silver showing, so I knew it must be good. I used the "Hillbilly Zapper" to knock the tarnish off. On the reverse it says "Phila. USA", it was made in the Philly mint for circulation in Ecuador. I was also able to score three Wheaties.
Sunday
I met Todd early and we went to a 1950s house, at 8:30AM, I got a Merc in the front yard. NICE. After we hit the house, we proceeded to Todd's honey hole. I got a sweet green 1898 IHC, a slightly green 1918 Lincoln and a '46 Rosie. Total wheat count for the day was 15... plus a "Junior Police" badge.
I had a really nice time, and owe a hardy 'thanks' to Todd for putting me on the treasure.
Silver coins #55, #56 & #57 YTD.
Thanks for looking & best of luck to you!
