So I ended up going back to the ball fields one more time yesterday. Pulled out a 1953-D Rosie, 1925 Merc and a 1944-S Merc. Also a sterling ring with a junk stone setting. Today I went to an old school (approximately 1920) that I have hunted before with the std coil, figuring I would give it a try with the sef coil. I have found quite a bit of silver there before, including a walking half, several Washington Quarters and many dimes. Today I found a 1946 Rosie, and 1941, 1942 and 1943 Mercs. Also a really nice sterling silver USAAF Navigator wings pin. Most interesting finds of the weekend are two1912 Barber Dimes that have been been converted to charms/jewelry. Somehow they were modified such that the ladies face changes and comes out of the faced of the dime. Anybody ever seen something like this? If I count these toward the silver coins total for the year that leaves me at 37.

Congratulation!

Those are some very nice finds... Congrats on all the silver!

Great finds !

That's a boat load of silver, congrats! Those mercs look a little hairlined. Make sure that you're not rubbing the coins as soon as they come out

That's an Awesome site you have there! Those are great finds, those barber dimes are certainly something very rare and special...the Airforce wings too. Well done. Show us more! Dug

I've just read your older posts about this site...Man, it is a great find...tell no one, go find all the silver that you can. I don't think you'll ever find another virgin site like this one again. I'm wondering if all the coins are coming from the old wading pool...just think of all the coins that could have been tossed in the water by people making wishes!! Good for you man! Go for it and enjoy it. I look forward to reading more posts from this valuable site. :goldtrophy:

Thanks for the good words. I do need to be careful with not rubbing the coins. As an update to the Barbers, they are known as repousse punched pressed popout coins and there is a patent for making them. There was a previous post on these on this forum:

I believe the ones I found are from the charm bracelet shown in the post above. Pretty cool. One is selling on Ebay ending today and is at 49.99.

awesome pop-outs! congrats. one of those would be high on my digging wish list
