I received an invite from Smittyman, to hit one of his new permissions. Even though it is very dry around here, we decided to give it a try. The shallow modern targets were relatively plentiful, but between the iron and the dry soil, the older targets were few and far between.

I was able to locate the following:

- Pocket knife with "SCOUT" on it.
- 4 Wheaties, oldest was 1931.
- Flat button.
- Monopoly game piece spill. The top hat and the shoe were in one hole!
- Small copper piece with ring through the top. IDK what it is...
- 18xx V Nickel.
- IHC... may be a 1904.
- 2 smashed lead bullets.
- Big iron nail. I don't know if it is hand forged, or machine made.

I even got a picture of Smittyman killing worms!

Thanks for looking and best of luck on your hunts!

It'd be neater if you plugged a semi circle and just folded it back for retrieval of target,no?

That isn't me. It's Smittyman!

And to answer the question, yes it would be better to cut a flap, but you have to be able to accurately pinpoint the target, and that brings us to another little issue...

Shorts and a tee shirt, nice.
Good finds buddy, keep digging a zapping with the hillbilly zapper!

Nice diggin.
Looking for a little help in Lancaster county SC.
Any suggestions from a Charlotte area guy ??

nice stuff CT. say hi to big Steve when he gets off the phone:--)

Very nice Tom. You're on the old stuff!

It makes me laugh seeing Smittyman. He's a good guy. I hope he's not handed a citation for a non-round plug by the plug-police;)

Congratz! Nice hunt!

Great group of finds Tom! That Monopoly spill is really cool though... I wonder how old they are. Looks like its getting warm down that way. We got another blast of cold up here and I cant wait for some more warm days.

Nice to see you post some finds again Tom. Congrats on those 6 keeper coins and the cool relics. :occasion14:

Thanks Brad. The top hat and shoe were part of the "Original 6" game pieces introduced in 1935. There is no way to tell exactly when these pieces were made.

Congratualtions on the assortment of cool finds!

Good finds Tom. Smittyman's hole is tiny compared to my buddy jdsly's, you'd think he was detecting with a backhoe! (He does cover them up, though)! Congrats on some cool coins.

Very chilly here. Thanks for showing Smittyman in warm wear:tongue3:. Good finds Tom.

Nice digs tom!, I'm jealous of anyone that's been getting out this home renovation of mine us consuming every spare second I have!

Great stuff CT. Really nice assortment there

nice digs tom. Good to see the nickel has some bite left to it. I can't dig a decent nickel for nothing. I wonder if someone landed on park place or boardwalk with a hotel and flipped the board:laughing7:
