After going to bed pretty late on Friday, Pocket Spill picked me up at 6:30am and we went to a shady part of town to detect the park and blvds. I was still in a daze as we got to our first location and started digging. First location got the merc, then the barber which was about 6-7 inches and such a tiny one way signal I almost didn't dig it. I think because of my hangover I felt like sitting down and so I started to dig. Opened the hole, nothing. Dug a little more, and finally the pointer picked something up. Didn't expect it to be a coin so was pretty excited to see a silver rim and the ONE DIME centered on the reverse. About a half hour later I desperately needed water so we ran to the gas station for drinks and then proceded to the next spot were we both scored a bunch of wheaties but no silver. Eventually we got to the last spot where some friends riding bikes spotted me and stopped to chat and ask me what in the world I was doing... so showed them my two dimes and defended my reasoning for looking silly in the middle of the city in 95 degree heat and as soon as they left I had a nice 12-44 dime signal at 4-5 inches. Opened the plug and probed around... nothing. Probed the plug and there it was... oh this has to be clad I though so I was scraping the dirt away with the propointer until out popped the very dark small coin. Thought it was a foreign coin at first and after some water and close examination saw the liberty shield!!! Still can't beleive a seated dime at only 3". Spent about an hour there hoping for a rosie but all I got was nauseous and had to head home to relax in the AC.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and stayed cool. HH!
