I went to a spot I hunt a lot but checked a new area and was surprised at what I found. It is right on the river and the property had a building from the 1700s over the years the land has eroded away leaving a small area covered in bricks so many of them you can't even see the ground beneath. I figured if there was any artifacts they would be under the bricks so I never bothered really looking. The only thing I can figure is the bricks helped hold the artifacts that eroded from the banks from going far. These were all found in about a 10x20ft area. Also found enough flint, quartz and jasper flakes to fill a bowl. Tore it up

You done great. Have you metal detected the old place?

I have once before but it was a very cheap detector and I didn't have much time.... I do plan on detecting it a friend of mine has a decent one so I'll give it a go. Building was constructed in 1797 ..... Doing some research I found a cool actual journal entry that was scanned so it was in the original hand writing .... The writer talked about how he took a ferry across the sassafras and paid the fair with one schilling.
