It was a beautiful weekend in NC. Tnetter Kurtstuben picked me up in his swanky new F250 on Saturday morning. Our local metal detecting club took us on a wild goose chase, looking for a lost ring.

It was a nice looking old house site, but there wasn’t much there.

I was thrilled when this shiny disc came out of the hole. I’ve been doing this for 4 years, and I still get excited when I see a silver coin in the dirt.

On Sunday morning, I hit this sidewalk tear out. I’ve hit quite a few of these and never found anything good. It’s right across from a public place that’s yielded silver coins. So why not? I got a wheatie and a couple of modern coins, then this 1907 IHC showed up.

I kind of wish that I didn’t find it, as now I’m going to want to hunt more of these sidewalk tear outs. Vicious cycle.

Thanks for looking and good luck on your hunts.

Hello CT. Nice digs senor. 'Ya gotta keep the faith on curb strips...sometimes they are frustrating exercises in junk-o-rama but I have many good items in my coolection from them as well...'ya just never know...'ya know.

Thanks for the post and Good Luck out there. C9

If you start finding silver then you might be removing sidewalks at night. LOL!
Good finds my friend.

sweet merc and love IHs too! Silver never gets old, not like us. now you have a taste of tear outs...may get habit forming

Well played Sir! Congrats!

Congratualtions on the old coins! :occasion14:

Those Mercs always make me happy when I find them. I've been on a IH drought, it's nice to see you find one. I never had a chance to search any tear out, maybe some day.

Way better IHC than mine, congrats buddy! Sunday was rainy and gloomy, I wondered if you go out, glad you did!

Well Tom if you can get Kurt to add an accessory to his F250 you'll be able to open up more curbstrips

I'm trying to convince Glen to get the plow attachment for his truck

Congrats on those 2 keepers Tom. :occasion14: Glad to see your still digging treasure. I recon your honey hole dried up.

Tom, you are still finding good places to search. Rain finally ceased here and may get to hunt.

Super finds. More continued success. :occasion14:
