Rough weekend for detecting here in Germany, high winds, storms, rain and some hail. Saturday afternoon was just high winds and a few rain spurts but Sunday it was high winds with a light rain all day. I still had a good time and picked up a few keepers on the Army post. Here are the finds. Two 50 Cal rounds, one looks to be an armor piercing incendiary round with the silver tip, I will put it in an amnesty box. The two flattened sleeves I am not sure what they are but they look like some type of 50 Cal round and have the same rifling as a 50 Cal. Any ideas anyone?

What looks like a hand grenade fuse, looks like it is from a training grenade but I don’t know, could be the real deal and a unit crest.

An older button, unit crest, old button, a U.S. insignia, button and a 1984 British Twenty Pence coin.

A Swiss Army knife in nice condition, I cleaned it up and oiled the hinges.

A little over $2.00 in American clad, two Wheat cents and a German 2 Pfennig coin.

A nice 4 piece silver ring, puzzle ring I think it is called, comes apart. Nothing too special but always fun to get out. We had a 6” dump of snow today but already melting off thank goodness! HH, Mike

Neat stuff...Good that you could get out between storms...And you can keep the snow! ;D

Some nice finds Mike

Your right about those being sleeves for the 50 cal.
I think thats a fuse for a smoke grenade and the unit crest is for the 94th field Artillery.
The blue unit crest is from the 8th Infantry Trains Divison.
What base were you searching on?

HH.
Jeff..

cool finds.. have you found any unexploded ordinance yet?

I was in Baumholder this weekend. Have found a few large caliber unexploded or live rounds, the smaller live rounds are common finds. The sleeves were IDed as casings from what is called, a full metal jacket, that is what is left after the round hits something. HH, Mike

Hi Mike

I woke up this morning to snow also. Now our town is flooding again from the rain

Nice finds. I always enjoy your posts so thank you for sharing with us what you are finding there in Germany.

Cool Scores as usual...Nice Pics, it seems that you got alittle of everything...Congrats and HH

The one medallion with the 8, the wheel, and the wings, is a transportation batt. insignia. Looks similar to mine. 28th trans batt. En temps, on time. Good work.

I was in Buamholder several times while stationed in Germany. B-Mike. The one club there made a hell of an Egg Burger sandwich. Is the place still operational? I have a friend who was there in the early 50's.

They had a KFC chicken joint at the bottom of the hill close to the railroad tracks, if I remember right. Then up the hill to the traffic circle, left to the barracks on the hillside, right to the Egg burger club, or straight, down into the heavy eqipment construction pit. ;)
