weather finely broke

went out to the old site at lunch.found the usual nails,pieces of iron stove?(got a bucket full)

and this round ball, it is about 1 1/2 " diameter and heavy maybe 1/4 Pound. got any ideas?

Possibly one of the balls for a ball mill. Less likely is a ball bearing or canister shot.
