Well ... you sure put a lot of effort into your hunts !

Good Luck & Good Hunting !

DUDE! that first picture! you look to be in an unexcavated overhang. I GUARANTEE you If you dug it out you would find Native artifacts. And for that matter.... you are in an artifact RICH environment, may I suggest you start the hunt for encampment sites. As far as I can tell, Mexico has not had a lot of artifact (think arrowheads) hunting done to it. But it is just as full as any Southwest U.S. area.... for that matter the American SW WAS Mexico (as you know). Were I you, I would change my focus from Chihuahua coinage to artifact hunting.... it sound like no one else is!

Thanks E-Track.

You are right, some amount of effort is needed, but we always enjoy the day, coins is a plus .

Thanks, good advice.

You are right, should be some artifact waiting over there, and so many places.

We found some a fort with very old trenches, that area used to be a corridor where Pancho Villa ( Mexican revolutionary hero) transited with his troops.

I will be alert for some artifacts next time in that area.

Thank you for sharing your interesting adventure and picturesque countryside in such good pictures! I think I would have fun being part of a team in in a place like yours.

Nice adventure out with your detecting mates.
Only one coin?
Reason for that I can see every photo shows everyone is sitting/laying down in the shade having a cold one.
Need to get up and swing the coils. :laughing7:
Great photos once again.
How many of you detect as a group?

Good observation, we do need to swing the coil more than move elbow upπŸ€ͺ🀣🀣

I have been taking photos meanwhile we were taking a rest. I did no take photos meanwhile everybody was swinging the coils.

This trip we went just a group of four, previous one we were a group of seven. It depends, some time I spend 8 hours detecting alone.

This trip started 6:40 am and I returned home at 11:00 pm.
Total of 4 hours driving and 3 hours walking. It means, two hours driving and 1.5 hours walking to arrive to the spot we selected,

Thanks for commenting.

Keep detecting, keep in touch, keep posting MD adventures.

What great adventures and write up. My favorite photo is the one of you siting at the mouth of the cave. The roof looks just like a modern day google earth photo. Great photos, thanks for posting them.

Coin appears to be a one centavo (bronze 20mm) minted during the period 1905-'49.
Certain dates have a greater than $10 value: 1915, 1916, 1920, 1924/3, and 1927/6.
The date would be above the 'C' but I can't read it.
If the 1 centavo coin measured only 16mm, it would be a 1915 coin.
Keep swinging and posting great pics.

Don,

Thank you for the info.

Do you know why those dates have grater value than others?

I think I have a couple from 1916

Do you know wich coin/serie has been circulaiting more time?

Keep in touch Buddy?

πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ˜Ž

Jorgeke,
The reason for greater value in certain dates comes down to relative scarcity and demand for the 'unusual'. The unusal coins--though not the rarest-- are those with a date over another date: (24/23 and 27/26). The 1916 has the lowest mintage of the series: 500,000 minted, followed by the 1920 (1,433,000 minted). 1946 had the highest mintage of the series: over 42 million.
