Hello folks.

A few weeks back, my son and I were out in the middle of nowhere (a happy place for most:laughing7:) working an old stage stop on the Nevada side of the border. This area is very desolate and finds have been few but just enough for us to keep coming back. A couple of seated coins and cavalry buttons have come out of it. My son found this piece which was black and covered in dirt. Before tossing it aside I told him to hold onto it and we'll clean it later. Well, fast forward to today when I saw it in our pile of "stuff" and decided to brush off the dirt. After a quick toothbrush and water, I could make out a design with a crown and cross going through the crown. No markings are on the back side but it appears to have a "Clip".

I soaked it in a solution we use to remove the crusty stuff and more details came out.........

I have attached a few pictures for your review.

Any ideas would be welcome since we haven't seen anything like this out in our area....

Thank you
