Hi everyone, we lost internet for a few days, omg we missed reading everyones posts! We didn't let that stop us, Chug had four days off, and we spent most of the time looking for goodies! Friday was a clad day, with a little silver thrown in, and of course we found toy's galore!!! One of our neighbors has grandbabies, and they love to come over and visit, so we are going to get a small toybox and we will fill it with what we find! Saturday was also calm, more toys, LOL The monster truck we dug up was almost snatched by a kid watching us, Chug had started digging the hole in the sand, and we must have had at least 8 rugrats following us, and walking right in front of Chug, he had to give his usual warning that they need to move, as the detector hurts when you get hit! Anyway, I got down and started digging and saw the wheels, next thing I know, this kids hand comes diving for the truck! I looked at him and said I don't think so! I would have let him have it if he had been polite and not try to grab it, and the kids parents were watching and didn't do anything about it!
Sunday was warm and beautiful, we went to one of our favorite parks, and started doing our thing, there had been a wild party the night before, and one of the fishermen was going around picking up all the garbage, so we gave him our lead for the day, and we had alot of it!!! We ended up taking a bunch of garbage ourselves, there was so much garbage it wasn't funny! We saw another guy detecting at a park we went to, he dug every signal, and used a screwdriver in a stabbing motion to dig with, you could see where he had been at since there was dirt and dying grass all over, so Chug went to talk to him about digging a different way, the guy didn't appreciate it, so Chug told him if he keeps digging and doing damage, he will get us all kicked out of parks, and that he was giving our hobby a bad name! We also hit another park, and omg our luck changed!!! We were busy digging coins left and right, and we ended up with a signal that was really bouncing all over the place, we decided to dig it anyway, Chug digs a little, then I do, then we see it...a glint of something slightly shiny! Chug pulls out a clod of dirt and we still see something shiny, he cleans it off, we think it's junk at first, it was bent up really bad, and dull, no way would we be so lucky, so Chug put's it in his pocket, saying just in case, and we keep digging, we found more clad, a pipe, boy scout coin, a doll, toy cars from hotwheels, and a silver pendant from India, still on it's chain, also silver from India! It has an M on it and is so cute, we can't believe we found the whole thing in one peice!!!! After we got done we went to the truck and called it a day. When we got home, I started cleaning the ring we had found, imagine our shock when we saw the mark, yep, we did it again, we found gold!!!! We went to our favorite jewelers, and asked them to look at it, the manager ended up cleaning it and straightening out the band, guess what? 18 carat gold, with 8 beautiful diamonds and a huge ruby, teardrop shape! We were told we need to get it appraised, which we will, oh, one of our neighbors saw my new ring and offered me $100.00 for it!!! Yea right!!!! All in all, we had a great weekend, and we missed you all!!!!!Red
