Been a very long time since I posted anything. Only got out twice last year and first time this year was Friday. But it was a good day. Found about 10 minie balls and these: Hotchkiss shell frag, cannon ball frag, musket/gun tool and musket flintlock mechanism. All from a Shenandoah Valley CW battlefield - on private property of course. All soaking in ACV now. Should clean up and preserve nicely. I have an ancestor that was wounded and taken prisoner while fighting on this battlefield.

JD - never mind. I took a closer look at an Enfield. I originally thought is was off an 1842 Springfield. But upon closer examination, I believe you are correct. Thanks!
