someone put a bunch of halves together and tucked them away. These are all dated 1979 and 1980. They are all mint-state. Somehow I got a full box of them. Something wierd though, is a lot of the 1979's are silvery on the edges. I think maybe they are coated? The one pic shows 5 of the 1980's and 5 1979's. Probably 50 of the 79's are silvery like this. And no, they are NOT "s" mintmarked. I am thinking about just sending them back into the wild. It's just too many of them. Wierd..right?

If it was the first of April there would be an easy explanation. I think you are the victim of someone's cruel sense of humor. JP

Snap one of the silver looking one's with your finger and thumb, see if ya hear that *Silver* ring to it. Might be struck on the wrong planchet
but those rims do not look like they have been painted on.....

For what it is worth, I would try and call a few large dealers to see if they are interested. They may only pay a slight premium, and it might not be worth your time but it's worth a shot. I would try large places like Littleton, ModernCoinMart, CovinaCoin, Silvertowne, CoastCoin, Skylinecoins, Miller's Mint, LCCoins, etc. These are the major dealers that pay for multi-page ads in the Numismatic News every month.

Yup, now that you mention it, that is exactly what it looks like.

Why oh why would you plate Cr#p? Garbage in, plate it...still garbage out......
and to plate like 50 of them? Major dufus?
