Nice early (and intact!) seal matrix buddy. You didn't tell me about that one! Big congrats

That's the second Wax Seal Matrix I have seen today.
That's the only reason why I knew what it was.
Congratulations on a great find.
Maybe Crusader can put a date and I.D. on it. (It's owner)

Love these wax seals! Congrats on the great find!

Damn, yesterday was a good day for you:)
Ha, remember I told you I thought it was a toy soldier? Some days it's trash, some days it treasure. Thanks

Hayfield strikes again, I can't tell you about something if I don't know, lol Thanks

Thanks ATW that would be cool if someone could, this farm was cleared in the 1600's

Congrats, nice seal!
Thank you

Congrats on a great find
Thanks Art

Yep. Only see a few of those on here a year. Congrats

Awesome relic recovery! :notworthy:

That is very cool, Treb, congratulations. When I invert the photo, it looks like a mouse wrapped in a belt w/ buckle! Can you imprint it into wax for us? Sub 8-)

Very nice find, especially with the inset attatched. As you probably know it is rare to find them with the insets because usually when the person died the inset would be destroyed to prevent fraud (using the deceased's seal). :icon_thumleft:

Great find! I was thinking it is possibly a tortoise / turtle - a tortoise with the expression "Excuse Haste" comes up with a few different designs. Here is a comparison of one I found in google images -

Bramble, That is awesome, I think you nailed it!

That's awesome!
I absolutely love finding those and seeing others too! They are so varied and different! They are the prize at the bottom of the detecting cracker jack box

WOW thank you Bramblefind, that is amazing.

I might try the imprint, but I'm thinking the detail is not there anymore?

Well put Ironhorse, it feels better than that Draped Bust I found the day before. I remember seeing one when I first signed up on Tnet and thinking how cool is that? I had totally forgot all about them. I'm so amazed it is in such good shape. I do believe I'll be in that field tomorrow even with 20 mph + winds and 25 degrees. I've seen allot of coins come out of there, many buttons, only two silvers so far. Always exciting going there.

WTG, I love Wax Seals, my son got two in one hole last year on a rare hunt for me with him. I have a few, take SILLY PUTTY and make an impression, I use it a lot for things like that, than take photos.....Attached photos of two relics with Silly Putty showing great detail, and it is not messy like wax and can be used over and over again...... Don

Wow Brad! That thing is awesome. Huge congrats man. A seal matrix is something I would absolutely love to find one day. Those personal items are my favorites
