Waterbury button help please

Hi,
I found this button and it has a back mark that reads Waterbury Button Co (star) it's a cuff size. It has 13 stars and the design on the front. I looked all over but can't seem to ID it. Thanks for taking the time to check this out.

I see a N and a Y, so I'm guessing New York?

Based on the backmark, it has to be from 1849 or later. I couldn't find your button, but I did find a M.I T. button that is very similar. So maybe your button is a school button as well.
