Tim ,If you buy the RTG scoop From Reilly's Treasured Gold it is $125 plus shipping a lot cheaper than E-bay sell it. Go to Reilly's site and check out and save some money. www.reillystreasuredgold.com

Thank You for the link. I figured asking for guidance would pay off, or at least save me some $$$.

I have that same exact scoop! It's a perfect length. The only down side I've came across is the grip tends to slip when it gets wet. Easy fix though. Other than that its very sturdy. The lakes here in TX are clay bottoms and digs with ease.

Good luck!

Get the 7 inch one...at least. just sayin. I think they make an 8 " on. Id have them put a stainless tip on it too. hh an gl -joe

I cant get out til SUN again but I will bring my RTG, 720 and dry sand scoops and you and the wife can try all three if that helps!!

Only downside is that they are heavy. But the are built like tanks.

Cool, I am leaning torwards the 7" one myself and a smaller one for the wife.

If you buy straight from Reileys you have to pay shipping and sales tax.

He will still save money. On E-bay you still have to shipping Plus.

Why not take a day trip down the coast. Go to RTGs make a choice and hit a local beach. Shipping $ could be used for gas.
Just a thought.

I like my Ray Diggato. It is heavy but it lifts 40 pounds of wet sand out of the hole with every bite.

I would stick with the Rally scoop( add a stainless steel tip ) I use a Babbs Scoop with a Stainless steel tip now for over 5 years and no problem

Reminder, you can take shallower (less sand at a time ) scoop's in the sand. I tried to lift 10 pounds of wet sand and pulled a rotor cuff which took 2 years to repair-

Tim ,I have that scoop 6" with a stainless steel tip. It's a good scoop.
The people at Reilly's are great people to deal with. Family run business.

Ron..... that price on Ebay was FREE shipping and no taxes. Like you thou.... i prefer to know where its coming from. The Trex is a great scoop, as is the stealth and Stavr..... each has their draw back. The RTG for me without the SS tip wanted to roll on me in hard pan. Larger holes means if you want to catch smaller targets you may need to add some gutter cover inside. Also with the others you add your own handle .... which means you can get it right if you are hunting out deep. Otherwise a shorter handle at chin deep after the first scoop..... you may be drinking some water. None the less..... excellent scoop, complete, good price, and cant beat them for a first scoop.
