Detector(s) used
Minelab xterra, Whites DFX, Notka Makro Simplex. Folks the price don’t mean everything, the question is are you willing to put in the time to learn the machine, experience will pay off I guarantee it.

A fish finder to hunt for treasure? Now I've heard everything. I think those use sonar so if you're trying to map the bottom of a body of water in search of treasure, as long as you follow a grid pattern, it should create an image like any sonar location device would. But don't they have devices already specially designed for that? Side sonars? They look like torpedoes. Great for finding big things. You can spot car tires like nothing, but anything smaller than that I don't think it's good for unless the tech has vastly improved since I last checked.

This is for your local rivers or dam. Question can you use what fisherman use as far as detecting fish, meaning its not going to show you a coin or. But can it detect shapes or hot spots. 20 or 10 feet or less. So what would you advise for such a search other than just going in the water, any such equivalent that can help thankyou
I used a sled type array, 5 Dues 1, in a grid pattern at different frequencies. Then mounted that to a sled. They are wireless, so you just keep the antennae above water. They sell twelve foot antennae. Your bottom has to be relatively smooth though. It will snag on the bigger rocks.

Find a wireless that will meet your depth requirements, 20 feet is deep for a metal detector in water.

Hey im saying if you dare or have the ability go for it , most won't obviously

I watched a guy who had sewn a coil into blanket and dragged it behind a jet ski.
He claimed it worked. I have doubts cause the speed of the jet ski should have pulled it up towards the surface.

here is a guy using a blanket detector to locate a nugget.

But the concept should work.
Nothing on the market that I could find.
So, you'll have to develop something,

Slow and low, without snagging...that's all you have to do.
Let us know what you come up with.
Or if you want to run some ideas across others.

Would all of you agree going slow is the best policy in metal detecting period. Everyone's in a hurry to cover more area.

😬eeek!
I'm actually trying to go fast and cover 250 acres a week.
But it's just a test still. I'm training a Prospect Dog / Ore Dog.
They claim a dog can scent detect 1000 acres in a week.
I'll be happy with 1/4 that. He's doing very well in training.
But the real world could be quite different.
