Hi there,

I know this is a good watch :)

What I am curious about is if the telescopic post at the top is likely a smoking pipe tamper?

This time piece also has a small Swiss army style knife and file.

It's fairly heavy for its size.

I guess it would function as a pocket watch and would have just been attached to a chain?

Very cool looking and it runs well!

Apologies if there is a timepiece forum and I overlooked it.

I won't spoil this one. Let others have a fun search.

Hint: Pull the damb pencil out. If that works, you will be on your way to solving this.
If this doesn't lead to being able to solve this, come back and I'll fill you in on more clues. :)

Holy smokes I was afraid to break it.

But finally yes indeed a pencil was extracted with a little extra pull.

Thanks haha. Never seen anything like it before.

Pencils were their main thing. They branched out with many high-grade items for the wealthy.

Yes this came from the estate of a wealthy man for many years ago. It lacks the seemingly coveted "Asprey London" stamp. Oh well, back to the safe deposit box. Thanks for the help!
