Re: watch fobs& badge's

Finding fobs like those once in a while is always an added bonus.
Nice finds!

Re: watch fobs& badge's

Those are some nice pieces, they all tell their own story! Good luck in future digs....Seeker :)

Re: watch fobs& badge's

On the back of that first fob, what does the script say? And then am I seeing things, or does it say "Peoria's Famous Whiskey Bottled by the Government" ???

Re: watch fobs& badge's

I hope to find some myself some day. Great finds and HH Burdie

Re: watch fobs& badge's

Very interesting relics there. Wjat sort of ground were you detecting in to find those? I have a few nice old sports badges I found on old goldfields here. So they always interest me.
Cheers Angela :)

Re: watch fobs& badge's

..... i have a similer one to the top one, but it is a child's badge given to children who joined a dairy club in the 1920's.

This would seem to be a reference to bonded or "bottled in bond" whiskey? 100 proof bourbon from a single distillery, produced in a single "season" and aged four or more years in a government-regulated, i.e., "bonded," warehouse. The main reason for doing this was to avoid paying excise taxes until the whiskey was ready to be sold
