Watch FOB

I found this Watch fob in my yard this evening. It is from the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The front says "SOUVENIR WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION CHICAGO 1893" and the back says "Compliments of the Keystone watch Case Co" "Non Pull Out".

Nice find and you didn't even have to go on an outing to find it! Looks like it will clean up really nice, too. Congrats!

That's cool...I also found a buckle that same hunt which is similar to the one you found in your post LOL.

I saw a couple of the fobs going on ebay with bids starting at $10. It sounds like the 1893 world's fair was a pretty big deal back then. It was where Cracker Jacks were introduced, the US mint created the 1st commemorative coins, and the USPS printed their 1st commemorative stamp set. It's awesome what you can learn from metal detecting. :read2:
