Came up as 50 cents on my Prism-2, about 8 inches deep, I washed the earth off with Dawn, can’t find any markings.

Invest in an acid test kit or have a jeweler look at it as it looks like gold from your picture but just a guess on my part.

It is a watch chain. If it wasn't green I'd say it is gold.
