I live in king county washington. I am sort of new to gold prospecting. Any tips on where to find the gold around here. Anyone from around here want to share there spots. Im just looking for advice. Thanks.
I'm not from there but here is a list of past spots where gold and other minerals have been found. Sorry I don't have time to narrow it down for you. Click on locality to see what's been found there. King Co., Washington, USA Much of the gold in your area is trapped in rock or micro but there are other cool minerals to find besides gold near you. Good luck welcome to Tnet. Alex
Nokta FoRs Gold, a Gold Cube, 2 Keene Sluices and Lord only knows how many pans....not to mention a load of other gear my wife still doesn't know about!
Shimp, the gold found here in W. Wa. is almost all small flakes and fines, as
it is mostly glacier gold. Nothing near Seattle (proper) that I know of, but
as mentioned there are a few spots around the Sultan R. and up towards
Index where folks have found decent color. I haven't a clue where to go
on it, but I've also heard the Stilly has color in some areas.
Now's a great time to get out there and prospect these areas, as the water
won't get much lower than during these hot weeks. Also, be sure you brush
up on the Wa. Prospecting regs just to insure you're not digging in the wrong
spot.

Clipped from another thread: Waddell Creek would put gold in your pan. It would be a great place to really put your sluice to work. Google Capitol State Forest and look for the PDF map. Most of the clubs in western Wa have at least 1 group outting there a year being a state forest you dont have to worry about claims it's open to everyone. It is in Thurston County I-5 exit 95 to the town of Littlerock paved roads all the way to the parking area. One suggestion there: Middle camp ground. There is a trail past the motorcycle parking. Another: Last time I went to Waddell all the camp grounds were closed, kind of a hike. If you follow the main road past the camps there will be a blocked off road to your left(blocked by big boulders) there is a bridge down that road about 500 ft or so and a nice trail along the creek. There is a little in Capitol forest on Waddell creek as well.
Miners get together in Liberty this weekend. Lot of info to be had there. Liberty is on Blewett pass (hyw97). Plan on being there all 3 days camping out and playing on the claims.
You might check out Prospectors Plus. Great club, lots of claims, lots of outings, and have chapter meetings in different areas. Prospectors Plus: Home
The miners rally is a good place to start.
