The guy was loaded with cash, but was so cheap that he starved
to death? Wow...now that was one messed up dude.

And, he had no relatives so the state takes it all.

There may have been an underlying condition, many times when an elderly person gets sick, they loose their appetite, if he lived as a miser, it would not have taken long for him to starve if this was the case. Still a very sad story.
