Metal Detecting
Today I went to the park and detected in an area just outside the baseball field. In the top row we have a brass tag, this was a surprise find. Must have been on a dog collar or some animal that could roam off. It was bent into a U with the lettering inside. Must be good quality brass since it did not snap. Next row down some clad coins. Lower left some wire that came off a non standard sized light bulb base that was smashed, maybe it is a precious metal? Then a pretty old one piece style pull-tab that read very close T.ID wise to what nickels do on my Safari. Ok now we are up to the big, two items in one hole story. Had a unusual sounding signal which turned out to be a throwing washer. Rechecked the dig out for more signals and had a response so dug some more and then found the 1911 penny. Hope this was better fun than watching paint dry. Happy Hunts! CARM

(raises hand) What is a "throwing washer?"

Well you did find a old penny so I would say it was a good day and the dog tag is cool so Congrats it's not going to be a great hunt every day. Good Hunting!
