I need an i.d. on these objects so I can identify what was at this site at one time. This stuff was found with nails and pennys. The first object is the front and back of a quarter sized little thing that says on the front " the lift dot". This item is in very good cond. and there were 2 of them in this location. My curiosity is up as there is nothing on my old or new maps indicating that any structure was ever here. As I look around the area it is covered with very lg. pines to close together for anything to have been there, but the small area where this stuff was found is thick with15 ft. pines which indicates that something was there and then gone, allowing the young trees to fill in. WHAT THE HECK IS THIS LIFT DOT THING? Thanks for any ideas.

Thanks, where did you locate the picture? I wonder what it's attached to. Now I'm even more curious, what would that be doing in such a remote area along with a few pennys.

Hey thanks, the reference to sails and canvas does sound logical. Anyway I'm taking more time for that spot in fall because the other unidentified items I found were left there.
