Was it going to be a Penny?

Here is a question for the experts. I have had this thing for some time now and have always wondered if it was going to be a penny. It seems to be the same size as a penny and about the same color. And it even seems to have a raised outer rim. In the picture that you only see the one penny the other is directly under it. So what do you think?

Never mind guys, I just seen a truck load of these on E-bay and there not worth a nickle.
But I think mine is one of those really rare coins and only a couple were ever made of it.

dang, I've gotten several of those out of cent bags and was going to sell them on ebay and retire

They are called blank planchets. I have quite a few. The hard question to answer is what kind of cent were they going to be.

the only way to know if it's legit and has a value is to send it to NGC or PCGS grading services.
