Was it going to be a Penny?

Here is a question for the experts. ;D I have had this thing for some time now and have always wondered if it was going to be a penny. It seems to be the same size as a penny and about the same color. And it even seems to have a raised outer rim. In the picture that you only see the one penny the other is directly under it. So what do you think? ???

Never mind guys, I just seen a truck load of these on E-bay and there not worth a nickle. :-\
But I think mine is one of those really rare coins and only a couple were ever made of it. :D

dang, I've gotten several of those out of cent bags and was going to sell them on ebay and retire >:(
 

They are called blank planchets. I have quite a few. The hard question to answer is what kind of cent were they going to be.
 

the only way to know if it's legit and has a value is to send it to NGC or PCGS grading services.
