I don't know if drying it more will bring back the two. A cheap cover is a plastic baggie. Don't tape it closed as the moisture in the bag will affect the electronics too.

I have not seen any covers for the coin$trike and use a large ziplock. Take it off the rod and leave the battery doors off and have a fan blowing on it and just walk away. Let it just sit there for a couple of days to dry out. The screen may never be 100% again but you may get lucky.

Only advice, get a cheapo-detector to use in the rain. Unless you want a CZ 6, or a CZ 20/21

buy a big bag of rice, seal the control housing inside a bag with the rice and leave it for a couple days. the rice will absorb all the moisture!!!!! hope it works for you.

I put the box in the sun to warm it up and its still the same. Still works though, afraid to mess it up . If you put it in a bag of rice,do you open up the box with the circuit board, and wont rice get caught inside the unit? Thanks for all the suggestions.

dont have to open it up! one thing you did wrong was using a hair dryer, the heat could have messed something up.

Try to find an Argo cover. I use one that can also fit a Compass Scanner. Argo is out of business. Their covers were built rugged with black cordura and padding. Velcro fasteners.

Silica gel works better than rice. You can buy it at craft stores, they sell it for drying flowers.

Hi Guys and Girls,
I tried the rice and its the same. I am leaving it alone. I learned my lesson,no more detecting in the rain, unless,I get a cover. Im glad it works at all! Anyhow, thanks for all the help and Happy Hunting!!!

I have more than one that i droped in the water. Never hurt any of them don't get in a hurry all you have to do is open them up and let them air dry for 3 or 4 days and they will be as good as new. Don't use a dryer you don't need rice or pellets just let it dry out all by it's self..Mine were completely under water they are as good as new. Same thing happened to my cell phone i just opened it up and let it dry out it was fine. BUT take the batterys out...........
