Got out today to a suburban Chicago forest preserve for a couple of hours of metal detecting. Although sunny, it was colder than the previous days and the ground was still a bit frozen, unfortunately. I recovered a 1946 dime (in decent condition), a 1942 wheatie, and a whole lot of trash. Not a bad first day back.

Any two day 2 silvers is a good day :) Extra nice with the pennies

Nice finds, I don't know exactly where you are hunting, but if you are in a Cook County forest preserve, you will have your equipment confiscated and you will be ticketed. Cook County closed their preserves to metal detecting well over 6 or 7 years ago.

Thank you for your concern, but I don't detect in Crook County.

Nice finds for sure :) Thank you for sharing.
I hope this is not hijacking the the thread but I am GLAD I do not go or live in Cook county.
