Nothing would keep the "US" part of the medal from flopping down over the "ribbon"?? Maybe not so good of a fashion statement. More of a fashion disaster.

Ok, you are right, and so very observant. The found bar would be pointing down. Interesting.

Perhaps it is like the orchid in the hair--left side is "I'm available" and right side is "Only if you are rich". Something like that.

My guess because artyfacts find is a Sweetheart item and not an official military medal, the star position would have no significance.
