(New Photo!) War of 1812 Butttons with CarolinaTom

(Thanks to Tom - Much better photo)...Great visit to the War of 1812 site. CarolinaTom drove 6 hours - way to go, dude. So we get there and I try to send him the best way where I think the beach area erosion will have left buttons (usual good finds) and musket balls, but he goes down there, turns around and comes back. So I go down there and crawl around (takes some ducking and crawling in places and, bang, I hit a large size (coat) RR button. I go a bit further and get a first ever for me - cannon with eagle on top and "Corps" below. I had a really good vid of the RR where I talk about trying to send Tom that way as I found the button, it was pretty funny, but the vid won't post. He's heard the video too many times and might strangle me. Luckily, he had good finds too...ok, these sideways photos...I'll have to keep the camera upright. Rookie mistake.

Beautiful buttons! I especially love the cannon one, they both came out of the ground in great condition!

Hi, nice finds. Congrats:icon_thumright:

very cool buttons, the kind that get you excited to see. congrats, the artillery button is crazy awesome, you can imagine the cannons firing in battle

Thanks for the killer invite Bergie. I am excited as we are preparing to go out again this morning. The place is stunningly beautiful. I saw porpoises chasing bait fish in the shallows yesterday!

Here is a better pic of YOUR buttons. Yeah you are “phototarted”.

For those than don’t know about the Regiment of Riflemen, here is a link:

It doesn’t get much better than saving this type of history!

I got buttons yesterday too. I will post when I get home.

Thanks again Bergie, you rock!

Wowzah, those some beauties, nice job boys!!!!!!!

Great buttons. I've got one of the artillery corps buttons and it is one of my favorite pieces. And good luck today!

Congratulations. Really nice finds.

Bertie, Congrat's on the finds of the buttons. Both are in great shape. I especially like the button with the artillery piece and the eagle. Both buttons are great pieces of Saved History. These would truly be a compliment to anyones relic collection. And to Carolina Tom, Congrat's to you on the find of your buttons. We look forward to seeing pic's of these, and continued success to you on your return trip and hunt today.

Very nice finds, love those military buttons. Poor Tom must of killed him when you came back from where he was. He's happy for you now, takes him awhile.

Sounds like you had a great time. Congrats on the 2 beautiful button finds. Good luck on your second visit.

Well done sounds like a great place to hunt Tom bro your turn today for that banner find though you migh have to wrestle a porpois over that gold coin. lol Happy Holidays to all of you. Tommy

Those are a couple real fine looking buttons
