Was surprised to find a silver War nickel on Venice Beach, FL. I have found quite a few silver nickels in less hunted areas so was pleased to find one in such a heavily hunted area. I found 5 regular nickels in the same area, so someone was discriminating out the gold, I didn't find any though. I was hitting lots of bottle caps and removing them from the beach and one of those signals turned out to be a Canadian "tooney" , it pays to pick up the trash! As a matter of fact, I often find change and other items around areas where thoughtless people have left their trash for others to pick up. HH Lloyd

That silver nickel is in pretty good shape. It probably remained high and dry from the salt water. Nice Find! :icon_thumleft:

nice find, in good shape too ;)

Funny, the only thing I dug today, well, yesterday, was a 1943-P war nickel.
Actually it's been a while since I've dug one.
Spookyyy!
Hope all is well,
Carl

I found a 42 p in miami about a month ago. Last weekend I found a franklin half in the same place. Last year found a buffalo at the same site. each was a first for me.

a war nickel in s. florida is a good find. You might find anything on a beach.

That's in pretty decent shape too Lloyd! :o
Looks like it's been buried in the sand a long time? :icon_scratch:
