Picked up 2 boxes of Cwr of Nickels and hit the mother load of war nickels . Total of 32 War Nickels. More then I have found all year and they were in two boxes . I have had horrible luck lately with halves ..... 13 box dry streak and dimes ..... 6 box dry streak . But the nickels have been showing me plenty of love .

Did they have multiple sort facility stampigs on the box?

No they were customer wrapped rolls that the bank must of gotten in and put in empty nickel boxes. I give them my emptied boxes if I'm dumping at a different branch so they can put Cwr rolls in them so it's easier for them

Very nice! I just searched my first box of nickels today and got skunked. Just gonna have to try again!

I have been averaging 2- 3 war nickels a box for most of the summer. With an occasional buff thrown in and back in may I even scored a v nickel. I haven't totally given up on halves and dimes but I only do a box once in a while

So I would suggest/hope that you went back to that very bank and bought out all the CWR's you could. Imagine all the goodies that could have been in the other denominations including dollar coins!!!

Very nice find! The only find of mine that compares to that one was around 30 years ago. I opened a CWR roll of nickels as a cashier at Taco Bell and every coin was dated 1940-1954 and included 15 War Nickels and an AU-50 Canadian 1942.

Yes.... Go back and get as many more of those CWR as you can... In my experience, there are often more when you hit a vein like that one...

When I got the 26 LOOMIS rolls with 99 pre-60s including a 38-D Jefferson and a Buffalo from a new box the other month, I went back first thing the next morning... bought the remaining 18 LOOMIS rolls from the box that same teller had left (she had sold 6), and a new box of 50 LOOMIS rolls from another teller... 108 more pre-60s including a 38-S and an AU 39-D, along with 2 more Buffalos resulted... Those were the only two LOOMIS boxes they got in that shipment... 207 pre-60s, 3 key date Jeffersons including one worth $40, and 3 Buffalos... I won't ever forget that one!

Nice score! Congrats! :)

That's a really sweet grab! I only have one war nickel, and I found it at work. I've had bad luck with nickel boxes lately (I searched about ten and came up empty).
