wanting to get pay dirt from our trip to the GA/NC mountains

we are heading to the mountains soon.we are going to cherokee NC and back south through out a lot of places.just site seeing and taking our time.
is there anywhere to buy dirt and bring it back home with us.
we are new to this but i wanted to bring some back for the kids to do and not buy a bucket "spiked" with stuff.

any thoughts is appreciated.

Lucky strike and thermal city off I-40 near Marion are good places. Both have good gold.

Check out Crisson gold mine. Although seems they pepper their stuff quite a bit as they are a hard rock mine and not straight from dirt. Its in Dahlonega GA. Great for kids. they sell it in 5 gallon buckets, paint cans and other sizes.
