Wanted reasonably priced detector

There are no detectors that will do what you want. Is this fridge outside somewhere and the ring dropped on the ground if so you can post in the general detecting forum and see if there is someone in your area who may search for you.

Thanks :-\
The fridge is inside, so is the ring. Already moved the fridge around a few times; if it felt somewhere behind the kitchen cabinets, I'd prefer to try to locate it without taking furniture apart.

Was hoping to try a detector that clearly determines silver from non-silver I can use in the kitchen to search for silver only. They specify in the manual for several brands that they do. How does it work in reality?

In reality it doesn't really work that easy. Metal detector is a "metal" detector. In the house it will sound off on all metals when it gets near then, including wires in the walls under floors, metal fixtures, you can also get electrical interference from appliances in home as well. The difference is that different detectors give you the information on what it sees in different formats, tones, digital readouts, LED lights. This information gives you a possible indication of what it is seeing but due to the different base metals used with silver and gold, it is not 100% accurate and can be misleading. You could tear out a cabinet, because the detector told you there was something behind the back of the cabinet, and it turn out to be a nail, copper wire. or the cable/electrical outlet in the wall facing the adjacent room.

If they had a detector that was 100% accurate on reporting silver and gold, it would cost thousands and thousands and most of us here would own one..................

Good luck.......

Thanks a mil! Kinda expected, that there is a trick o' trade. Working with dogs, know a treasurehold of hidden "insider" things, novice would not possibly have a clue about. Still, luv the idea of using modern technology before going through all furniture in the room old fasion way, ;D

Empty that fridge and tip it on its back, or side. That ring may of fallin/bounced off the floor under the fridge /ontop of a little ridge that is under the fridge. It my be even on top of one of the feet of the fridge, bend down and take a look with a flashlight if you have not already. check the coils on the back also.

If you put it on it's back do not break or puncture the coils.
Some kitchen Cabinets may have a space behind them at the bottom, if you have a flashlight check behind there.
