Man who found the money at age 8 considers an auction

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas - In 1980, 8-year-old Brian Ingram found the sole link to the only unsolved airline hijacking in U.S. history buried in the sandy banks of the Columbia River, where it divides Washington state from Oregon near Portland.

Now 36, Ingram hopes to auction the weathered bundle of $20 bills as the FBI launches a new effort to find the unknown hijacker who parachuted into the night after taking over the 1971 Northwest Orient Airlines flight.

D.B.Cooper, did he really jump? He was not dressed right for jumping from a plane in freezing cold weather. He was wearing slippers at the time he was on the plane. He knew about how to jump from the back of the plane he was on but told ALL the flight crew to hide in the cockpit while he jumped. I believe he through an open chute out the door with a packet of money and made his way to the cargo area til the plane landed and sneaked out later.

It's a far fetched story but it's better that the crap the FBI is feeding us.

Intresting scenario. I suppose he could have threw a Package of money out too
IF He wasn't that greedy. but most thieves are.

either way wouldn't the FBI Have locked down the plane upon landing
and searched everywhere for evidence ? no matter how remote
any would be there

Ya, but would they think he hide in the cargo area if he shut all doors behind himself except the exit door.

I was trying to see if anyone else would think like a greedy thief that would keep ALL the money.

It is interesting.

There was a documentary on cable not too long about this that identified the individual known as D.B. Cooper. They interviewed his brother, and other people who knew him. It was pretty interesting.
He is dead now. Survived the jump, but died of old age some years ago. Of course it is unknown if the guy really was D.B. Cooper, but suddenly right after the hijacking, the guy had a lot of money. They showed photos of him, and the photos were identical to the FBI drawing above. WAY too many coincidences for it not to have been him.

some have said it was Impossable
for him to have Survived the Jump.

But when you see Accidents
where Vehicles are crushed
like a tin can and people
walk away after being Cut out,
you soon Realize Nothing is Impossable.

i have often wondered about this story. looks like the f.b.i. or some other agency would have combed the area until they found something. looks like the governor of the state involved would have had the national guard in the woods until they found bones or the money. after seeing the stories about it on t.v. it was said the key to his survival was what if anything he was carring in his pockets. it was said that he jumped in a business suit and loafers. and another thing it was way before gps units and cell phones so if he had help on the ground someplace(which is hard to believe)it would have been hard for them to locate him in those conditions. i personally believe that he died someplace out there.
