Looks more like a whale tooth than a walrus tusk. This link might help. authentic ivory old and original whale teeth

Heat up a sewing needle red hot (use a pliers) and score it in an out of the way sight. If the hot needle it able to penetrate the object, it is not bone or ivory, and is more likely to be baculite or plastic. Also check for growth rings.

That is definately not walrus tusk. If it were, it would be much longer and narrower. More than likely a whale tooth as Oswald suggested.

If we could see a picture of the cut end, it would be easier to determine if it is real or not.
