I went to my worst field, because i'm short on options now. Worst because it saw lots of action in Feb. 1945. So much trash has no other field with a roman site. First i eyeballed an IKEA card I started digging bullets, shrapnel, casings and hit another card. Now of a hardware store. Next were Dutch and German plant protection licenses, organ donor card and health insurance card....bullets, shrapnel too. Came home with 8 cards, two shot roman coins, annular brooch, Prussian 1847 1/6 Thaler and a 185x 4 Pfennige coin. It looked nice in the field and i need a good one for the collection. After rinsing with warm water and cleaning with a toothbrush it was as toast as the others i found...
It was not a perfect day finds wise, but the weather was sunny and the guy with the cards was over the moon when i called him. His wallet was stolen just before Christmas. Most of the cards were replaced, but the pesticide licenses, especially the Dutch ones are difficult to replace.
He lives only about 5mls away and he immediatly came over and picked his cards up. Good deed done.
