Howdy Folks. Another one of those proverbial hunts where I was basically skunked on all things good. Worked until after sundown and walking back to the Command Vehicle I got a faint deep repeatable signal around 81 on the R2. I stuck in the D95 and tossed out a big plug of dirt. Scanned the dirt and nothing. It was still in the hole. Got my carrot and found it in the hole. A no date well toasted Indian Head Cent. YEAH!!! I am happy as all get out to finally score my first old coin at this field sight. I gained permission for this field probably 8 years ago and have only found a few Wheaties, a silver Rosie, and the War Nickel a few weeks back.

So I am pleased as punch to get this no date pot marked Indian FINALLY! I got a valve stem, a BIG HOOK and a few chain links, another .38 x 40 brass, .308 Winchester brass, plus about a 12 pack in can slaw. The monkey is off my back. I did chat with the land owner and he clarified his property lines for me. I'll be checking out other spots now that I had a talk with him. Thanks for stopping by and adoring my toasted Indian Head Cent. Kurios1

Congrats on bagging that indian.

I'm guessing it's a '64 Longacre...lol :tongue3:

Congratulations on your Indian. It is one of my favorite coins to find!! It nice to get something from a spot you have hunted previously.

That elusive Indian is butt ugly but, I am so pleased it showed it's face. Also one of my favorite finds. Thanks for the reply.:hello:

Congrats on a nice little Indian,,
You might be able to get a date and a little more surface definition using Andre's pencils. They are very effective on copper coins.

Good going on the Indian! I have never found one of those.......yet. :icon_thumright:

Firsts are *always* a special thing!
Congrats!

Id take that Indian any day! Congrats on the keeper Kevin!
It's cool you found it at a place you've hunted for so long. Never know what you will find.
Haven't got one yet but came close with a 1910 wheatie last weekend LOL

I know your first Indian is our there and not too far off. You have the knowledge and skill it takes to get them. Only a matter of time.:icon_thumright:

A toasted Indian head cent Is better than no Indian head cent. Good job!

Nice job scalping that bad boy!!!!!!

Nice Indian! You definitely salvaged the hunt with that last minute score. I'm sure that land will give you even better keepers in the near future.
