I bought the remains of an estate last spring. When I buy something like that I generally have a limited amount of time to get everything out of the house/shed/barn whatever. I do my best to keep track of everything but sometimes things slip through the cracks. On the day we finalized the deal the owner handed me a small box of stuff she had pulled from a desk drawer saying " I was going to throw this out but you might as well take a look". The box was mostly full of pens, paperclips, & pencils but it also had some Mardi Gras tokens & what looked like a few junk watches. I poked through the box real quick & didn't see anything interesting so I put it in the truck. From there it ended up on a shelf in my part of the basement.

Today I remembered the box & pulled it out to take a look. It was pretty much junk. There were a few watches, one of which was a Seiko worth maybe $20.....& then there was this one called a Wakmann Incabloc. I'd never heard of it, but it ran so I thought I'd check it out online. Turns out it's called a triple date chronograph & sells for pretty good money on ebay. I did fairly well on the rest of the estate & this will be the icing on the cake.

"sells for pretty good money on ebay"

Just did a completed listings for Wakmann Incabloc triple date ... one sold for 790 and the other for 979. Uh ... yeah, I'd say that's definitely "pretty good money". :notworthy:

Wow! Great find and the condition looks to be excellent. No doubt you'll get 6, 7 to maybe 9 hundred for a vintage mechanical swiss made chronograph like that. Did you look at the movement yet?

I've seen enough fakes that I don't believe any watch is real without checking the movement. I doubt this brand is as heavily faked as Rolex because it's fairly obscure. The first pic shows the entire movement, the second shows the 730 R that designates it as a Valjoux 730.IMG_2183.JPGIMG_2192.JPG

I wasn't thinking at all it was a fake. I just love to see a nice swiss made chrono movement. They're beautiful to look at. I just did a swap for some silver for a running, but missing a bezel lock crown vintage Glycine 24hr Airman wrist watch. It was in a coin shop. The guy who runs the shop is only interested in coins, silver & gold. The Glycine was in a silver turquoise bracelet. He wanted the bracelet and said, sure you get the watch of the bracelet and we can do an even swap. Wakmann is known for making chronos. Don't believe a Wakmann time only would bring much, but any watch with a triple date Valjoux movement is worth money....Wish I found it, I'm jealous!

I'm a sucker for a mechanical watch/clock. I can't justify keeping one that will sell for what this one will. I generally wear a lower end self-wind from the 50's-70's. I think they look cool & I like the mechanical aspect.
