Ok, so the neighbor at my new jobsite is clearing out the last of his dads estate, and asked if he could throw a few bags in our dumpster.......Naturally I said sure, and proceeded to dig through all of them
I ended up with a truckload of stuff, too much to list here, and I'm still sorting it. I'll get some pics up soon. Anyway, there are two of these.
The plaque on the side says "Wahlquist pipe locator, -transmitter-, model 113, nillson electrical laboratory inc., New York NY" On the top there is a switch with off, on and int. and two contacts marked + and - 6v the other three contacts are labeled high common and low. The other side is marked in stencil, NOPSI ENG DEPT which is New Orleans public service inc.
When I grabbed them I thought for a second they were blasting boxes.....but no such luck. Now I know that a pipe locator is basically a metal detector, but these aren't like anything I've ever seen. Sorry about the pic quality in advance, I'm getting a new camera soon.
