Hey guys
Could use your help
I bought this wagon wheel hub in the remore mountains of GA
Any thoughts to the size or style of wagon this belongs to?
It has 14 spokes
13" tall and 27" in diameter
Is it worth anything? paid 60 a few years ago, I wouldnt sell it, love the pc
Thanks for your input
Brady

Do you mean 27" circumference? and 13" from side to side the way it lays in the first pick.?

27" dia. is huge.

But 14 spokes were large wagons and cannons. Cannon wheel spokes lean toward the outside. "dished"

Looks like it is from a horse drawn farm wagon like this one...the rear wheel has 14 spokes if I counted correctly.
So does this civil war cannon, so I really don't know. Just taking a wild guess, I would guess farm wagon.

Thanks so much for all of your replies
as for my mention of diameter, I took a tape measure and wrapped it around the barrel
are there any other measurements I should take to find out what this hub belonged to?
seems large for a standard farm wagon due to the spokes.
I love this pc, agree, would make a nice lamp but would hate to mess up the integrity of the item.
I love history and artifacts

I found the front hub to that chuck wagon in the brush. 12 spokes. Hope it was to a CW cannon, but probably just a wagon.

So are we saying - cant solve this?

Probably could be solved with more measurements and pics . Problem is that the dynamics of wheel building are pretty standard . Individual wheelwrights had their own sleights
as did the different factories that built wagons in quantity .
