We went to Wabash to visit a place yesterday.

We like to eat at the coffee shop, the Modoc Market, or the Charley Creek Inn, an old historical hotel, when we are there.

The Charley Creek Inn has a very nice dining area.

I have read about the wild elephant there before. There are multiple photos, old circus banners and other items posted over the town.

But I thought: "hey, I bet this is one of those little-known events outside of the area. "So here it is.

There was a burger joint located in a small mountain town near me, whose owner had an African elephant housed next door. As a kid it was always a treat to catch a glimpse of Akili as we drove through town. As an adult, I once had a surveying job next door and we visited over the fence several times.
