Hello all,

Today while detecting at a homesite that burned in the '40's, I found what appears to be an aluminum token. Embossed on one side are the words "W.H.Burt San Francisco Cali" There are no markings on the back (except the outer perimeter is like the front)

A search on "W.H. Burt San Francisco California" turns up glass bottles that were early soda bottles, and that W.H. Burt closed up shop and doesn't appear anywhere after 1852...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

:) Bob

made on a machine called a 'metal typer', you could customize your own souvenir. they do date back earlier than the 30's, although I'm not sure how far. I once found one dated April (something) 1913 with a woman's name on it. My grandmother knew the woman personally, and told me that the date on it was not her birthday, so it must have been made then. yours does look to have some age to it, and I would guess it to have been made in the 40's
