W for winchester I think

Found this the other day with the MXT it rang in at 47 it is about the same size as a nickel. The outer ring looks like brass and the W looks like gold. The two levers on the back are stuck but look as if they would move 90 degrees. On the back it has printed pat. Dec. 2nd. 8

I thought it might be a cufflink but I can not find anything that looks like the back.

You are missing one digit, too bad. It would be Dec 2, in the 1880's I guess but we need that last digit to try and search. ...unless it is 08. ...or 18.

you are absolutely right there is a 4 after the 8 so it would read pat. Dec. 2nd 84

I think the W is the cufflink owners initials.
